Here are some excerpts
from a message concerning an australian campaign I received
from Ludde Ingvall.
"I am not creating, launching or running an Americas
Cup for Australia", Ludde Ingvall wrote. "I
would support a credible Australian project as I think
Australia is intertwined with the history of the Cup
and Australian businesses could gain huge marketing
opportunities by competing in Europe".
All of the rumors are just rumors.

"If (the Cup) goes
to Europe, we're looking at a 450 million-person market
instead of a 4.5 million-person market", Ludde
Ingvall said. "That's a huge difference so I would
hope for Australia's sake that the Cup goes to Europe".
"One thing that we gathered over the years of the
big racing team and experience, is how to set campaigns
up and how to run the logistics and how to look after
the sponsors and give them value", he added.

Crowe, an Australian joker ? (01/04/03) (source : AFP)
Oscar-winning gladiator
and occasional bar-room bad boy Russell Crowe tried
turning fiction to fact Thursday by joining the crew
of a maxi sailing yacht racing up Australia's east coast.
Crowe, 38, and a group of about 10 mates were invited
by Finnish skipper Ludde Ingvall to join his 25-metre
yacht Travelex for the race from Sydney to Coff's Harbor,
a six-hour drive up the coast.
Ingvall, whose yacht under the banner Nicorette won
the prestigious Sydney-to-Hobart race in 2000, came
in second in 2001 and ranked fifth in this year's competition
last week, has been trying to build an Australia-based
syndicate capable of regaining the country a place in
races like America's Cup and the Volvo around the world
challenge.
