New phase in Valencia Harbour (07/07/05)

(source : Terra.es)

Bulldozers went into action in Valencia Port yesterday by starting the demolition of the old fish market to make way for the construction of the VIP building for the Americas Cup designed by David Chipperfield and Fermin Vazquez.

Once finished, the building will be one of the most interesting of the Americas Cup facilities and will sit alongside the canal that links the sea with the inner port area.

Budgeted at 35.1 million Euros, the works are expected to be finished by next May in time for the next regattas in Valencia.
