China Team are spending the next
ten days between Hong Kong and Shenzhen organising
their first Sailing Camp.
After a dinner and conference, Friday 3 March, where
Xavier de Lesquen and Luc Gellusseau took the opportunity
to present their project, serious things are now
beginning with the move in Longcheer Marina, 40
kilometres outside Shenzhen.
The first eleven Chinese sailors selected by the
Chinese Yachting Association (CYA) arrived at the
marina on Sunday evening, accompanied by Weidong
Liu, director of the CYA.
The programme includes: physical and psychological
tests, lessons in English in nautical terms, and
training on the water in match-racing. It will finish
with a competition of Maxi-boats in Hong Kong Bay.
The point of the exercise is to earn a place within
the team which will compete in May in Valence.
