In accordance with the Protocol governing the 32nd America’s Cup, the Jury has appointed Swiss lawyer, Professor Henry Peter as the fifth Jury member.

He replaces Prof. Gabrielle Kaufmann-Kohler who resigned earlier this year, when she was appointed to the board of one of the Defender’s main sponsors.

Prof. Peter, who took up his duties on 22nd September 2006, is familiar with the competition as he sat on the permanent arbitration panel in place during the 31st America’s Cup.

Since 1998, Prof. Peter is a partner at the Lugano law firm Bernasconi Peter Gaggini where he lists sport and arbitration among his practice areas. He is also a Professor at the Department of Commercial Law of Geneva University and heads the Master in Business Law program of the Universities of Geneva and Lausanne.
