With only 65 days left till the
next LV Act in Valencia, no day passes without the
sailing activity getting more visible.
The main focus of the week was the Team Shosholoza
which, after a two month break on home turf, has
returned to their base and has launched their 2006
sail training programme at the weekend with a test
sail on yacht Shosholoza RSA 83.
Most of the other syndicates starting to 'mix it'
a little with the other challengers but, in true
America's Cup style, the results remained a secret.
Nevertheless, according to Team Germany website,
the Jesper Bank's Team is very happy with the boat's
performances and has continued to prove their good
shape.
In February, the Team Germany had already shown
a very good performance in sparring with Italian
Team +39 Challenge and, this week, they left another
Italian crew standing during two joint training
days with Mascalzone Latino Capitalia Team.
"We sailed three match races on Wednesday and Thursday,
and we came out on top in all three", said a happy
Jesper Bank. "Apart from this, we did nine starts,
and the final score was 8:1 in our favour".
The week, starting 6 March, the German crew will
embark onto a full training programme again : Sparring
with the Spanish team Desafio Español 2007 on Monday,
with BMW Oracle Racing on Tuesday and Wednesday
and then with Mascalzone Latino Capitalia Team on
Thursday, so they will once again be able to test
their shape.
