For the first time in Germany, three professional America’s Cup teams will race against each other in a show regatta.

In the heart of Kiel, off the Hindenburgufer pier, the German team will be racing on home waters against BMW Oracle Racing from the USA and the South-African Team Shosholoza.

The races are scheduled from 3 through 6 August and the original training boats will be moved from Valencia into Schleswig-Holstein’s capital to carry out match and fleet races just like they are sailed in the Cup itself.

"We are very much looking forward to the races at our home base Kiel," said Michael Scheeren, head of syndicate with United Internet Team Germany. "They will be like a high-level training for us, close to the real competition with two other Cup teams involved".
