The 2009 hypothesis is emerging (12/03/07)
(source : ATS)

After BMW Oracle Racing, Alinghi seems likely to choose a two-year cycle for the next Cup.

Michel Bonnefous, the President of the organization behind the Americas Cup, today stated that the next Americas Cup races could be organized in 2009 if Alinghi carries off the Americas Cup.

"2009 seems to be a good Year to me", he said during a press conference in Madrid, refusing to unveil where a new defense will be located.

"Valencia is very attractive, but several other cities are also interested", he said. "We will see during the next months".
