When some are worried about the
Semifinals, others have yet the next America's Cup
as new horizon.
Sébastien Col, Skipper, Areva Challenge : "We
are quite a young can look to the future with ambition.
We are already looking at the future and working
already for the next campaign. We plan to sail with
the boat to validate a few improvements now, at
least until the end of June. Our first goal is sailing
the boat, to improve and do things we didn’t have
time to do as a basis for the next campaign."
Stéphane Kandler, CEO of Areva Challenge : "We
cannot announce definitively (that we continue),
but what is sure, is that Areva clearly stated that
they want to continue with us. Initially, it will
be necessary to analyze our campaign and to prepare
a project that will be more competitive in the future.
There will certainly be some news in the next few
weeks."
Magnus Holmberg, Skipper, Victory Challenge: "Like
the other teams we will debrief to capitalise on
this investment and make sure it is secured for
the team for the future. We want to make sure the
project is packed up and ready to go at a later
stage. It’s definitely the intention to continue
but we don’t know at this stage, and plenty of work
has to be done. I think we have pretty good hopes
of looking forward to another challenge".
Jesper Bank, Skipper, United Internet Team Germany
: "It has been very encouraging that the owner
and main sponsor has the vision and courage to look
ahead for another cup. That is very promising."
Pierre Mas, Skipper, China Team : "I am a little
disappointed by the distance and the work we had
to do to be more competitive and it’s what we will
try to achieve next time. With our budget it has
been a good thing since we have started many developments
in China but for sure next time should be done in
a different way, with a more powerful budget and
the tools to be more competitive. The work starts
today for that, a good positive sign that the team
will continue for the 33rd America’s Cup".
