Valencia Sailing published the
first images of CHN 95, the new Chinese America's
Cup boat, sailing in Valencia.
After her arrival from the boatyard on December
15, the technical department and shore crew of the
China Team carried the fitout of the appendages
and deck of the yacht.
Today CHN 95 docked out of the China Team base for
the first time in order to embark on a test sail.
It was magnificent weather in Valencia, 20°C on
the thermometer, a light breeze between 5 and 8
knots at the beginning, a wind which would pick
up progressively towards the end of the end of the
day up to 20-23 knots and a good sea.
"We sailed about two hours, first with the
genoa only, then with only the mainsail and finally
with the genoa and mainsail", explained Pierre
Massé at the end of the day. "Everything went
well. The boat doesn’t seem to have any problems.
Now we are going to be able to move to another stage,
finish a few jobs and then develop CHN 95…..that
will be really good".
